Job description
IBS designer for passive and active solutions with credible
experience.
Main Responsibility Area
Plans and manages execution of the project or sub project accoding to budget. Leads sub project team. Manages designs, time, quality, progress, cost, risks, and internal and external resources. Ensures that all project milestones are met by using global processes, tools and interfaces. Acts as customer interface in own responsibility area.
Position Description
• Manage E2E IBS projects from planning phase until final acceptance phase, including subcontractor management, interactions with logistics, procurement and NPO teams as well as interface with customer and governmental entities. Responsible for Design, Supply, Installation, and Optimization of IBS coverage solution in an E2E approach.
• Design IBS coverage solutions to provide indoor coverage in venues suffering from poor coverage or requiring dedicated capacity as Airports, Shopping Malls, Stadiums, High-rise towers … etc. for different technologies including GSM, UMTS, LTE, TETRA, iDEN, 1xEV-DO, CDMA on different frequency bands.
• Assessment of the optimum Distributed Antenna System (DAS) type (Active/Passive or hybrid) according to technical, financial and logistics’ metrics by assessing different active/passive suppliers’ IBS solutions.
• Perform capacity study for the venue in order to determine the required capacity to offer and plan the sectorization strategy in order to minimize Soft Handoff and intra-site interference.
• Create fully digitized IBwave designs by importing venue layouts, antenna placement, DAS connectivity, power balancing and different predictions running to enable accurate BoQ extraction and submit the solution in a presentable format.
• Optimize IBS venues to enhance end-customer experience in terms of call continuity, call quality and data rate performance by minimizing dropped calls, interference and SHO regions to ensure IBS dominance over interfering sites.
• Conduct pre-design survey to acquire useful design information including noise floor level, equipment room location, vertical risers, wall material types, VIP areas to cover and any venue specific parameters.
• Perform Continuous Wave (CW) tests on different technologies and frequencies and use CW test data to calibrate propagation model on iBwave design tool.
• Present the full IBS solution to customer and respond to any technical queries that might arise.
• Study new solutions that can are developed for IBS coverage including Small Cells, WiFi planning and large scale active solutions.
• On-site support when required for global customers to support local teams and ramp up technical competence through knowledge transfer.
• Technical support for junior team members through coaching and knowledge transfer.
Position Requirements
In building planning and optimization skills are a must for the job with a credible record of IBS delivered.
Skilled in producing documents and presentations aimed at both a technical and a non-technical audience
Solution Selling & Consultancy skills
>7 years experience
Experience with a network performance / design service provider an advantage.
IBS Design tool certification is a must.
